After some long flights and layovers we made it to Santiago, Chile! Not as many people as we expected are able to speak English, but we’re learning fast and willoften pull out the pocket translator.

This week we've been riding almost every single day at a new location and although the conditions are much dustier than what we came from in Canada, it’s not all that much different than Whistler in the middle of August!

The first place we rode was about a 10 minute ride away from our accommodation. It had a gondola, which only costs $3 for a ride up! Of course we pedalled up, and the views from the road were well worth it! It was like a mini Mt. Fromme in the middle of the city! Stoked!

After a few days of riding in locations around the city, we picked up our rental car and headed to the coast and a town called Valparaíso. No riding here, just good views and good food!

One of the challenges for the following week will be fitting all our stuff in our tiny rental car (which sometimes doesn’t start) to head up to Farellones, the mountain where the race will be. Apparently the road is quite steep as well so we’ll see if this little car can make it!
